Kriegsdienstverweigerung als Möglichkeit
Combatants for Peace, Friedensbewegung von Israeli:nnen und Palestinenser:innen / Maksim Kokorev, System Analyst, Bauman Moscow State Technical University / Justapaz, Asociación Cristiana Menonita para la Justicia, Paz y Acción Noviolenta, Kolumbien ALbr

Conscientious objection is one possible response to war and militarization. It reflects a position that prioritizes nonviolence, dialogue, and diplomatic solutions over armed conflict. Those who refuse military service often do so on ethical, political, or religious grounds, and their perspectives contribute to broader democratic debates about responsibility, resistance, and peace.
A range of individuals and organizations engage with these questions in different ways. Initiatives such as Combatants for Peace bring together Israelis and Palestinians working toward nonviolent transformation. Voices like Maksim Kokorev, a system analyst at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, add analytical and societal perspectives, while organizations such as Justapaz (Asociación Cristiana Menonita para la Justicia, Paz y Acción Noviolenta in Colombia) emphasize faith-based approaches to justice, peace, and nonviolent action.
Despite their differing backgrounds and viewpoints, these actors share an interest in building partnerships that address violence and oppression. Their work often involves fostering dialogue, supporting vulnerable communities, and exploring alternatives to cycles of conflict. While their methods and motivations are not identical, they each contribute to ongoing efforts to challenge structures of power and to imagine more peaceful and just forms of coexistence.

 

Unter dem Titel „'Kriegstüchtig' oder 'friedensfähig'? – Eine Orientierungssuche" befassen sich die einzelnen Abende der Ringvorlesung mit Themen wie Friedensethik, der Wehrdienstdebatte, Kriegsdienstverweigerung, Journalismus in Konfliktzonen sowie den Wechselwirkungen von Klimawandel und Krieg. Die Reihe sammelt Stimmen aus Wissenschaft, Kirche, Journalismus und Friedensarbeit und lädt dazu ein, unterschiedliche Perspektiven kennenzulernen und miteinander ins Gespräch zu treten.
